Tucked into the heart of Riversdale, Journey Guesthouse lives up to its name. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a comforting oasis on any adventure. During our recent Tour My Province trip to the Hessequa region, Journey Guesthouse generously hosted the Afrikaap Radio team, giving us the perfect home base to explore the heritage, hospitality, and hidden gems of this remarkable region.

Owners Aletta and Neil are the definition of warm hosts. They were gracious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making us feel cared for. From the moment we arrived, there was an immediate sense of exhale. Rooms are spotless, cosy, beautifully maintained and designed to ensure a restful stay. Free WiFi kept us connected, secure parking offered peace of mind, and thoughtful touches – like various accoutrements to help us pull off an impromptu braai – made all the difference.
Located just a couple of minutes from Riversdale’s historic landmarks and vibrant local businesses, Journey Guesthouse allowed us to experience the town at its most welcoming: slow mornings, mountain views, and that distinct Hessequa friendliness.

We are deeply grateful for their support of local media and community storytelling. If Riversdale is on your route – whether for leisure, business, or a scenic road trip – Journey Guesthouse is where you’ll want to unpack, unwind, and stay awhile.
